Job Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4pm)
Salary: £89 – £105 per day

Ortus Recruitment are seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to work closely with the head teacher and pupils, supporting learning, emotional development, and behaviour management. We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about helping young children thrive in school.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the head teacher in planning and delivering daily activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils engage and progress.
• Support children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
• Help set up the classroom for lessons and assist with tidying afterwards.
• Handle administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, creating displays, and keeping records for teachers or parents.
• Build strong relationships with parents to encourage positive communication and a welcoming school atmosphere.
• Ensure pupils’ health, safety, and wellbeing by maintaining a secure environment and keeping hazardous items out of reach.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents, listening attentively and responding appropriately.
• Manage multiple tasks while staying fully engaged with the children and supporting the teaching team.
• Provide targeted behaviour support, including one-to-one mentoring and small group sessions to encourage teamwork, social skills, and emotional development.

Requirements:
• A strong commitment to supporting children’s emotional, social, and mental wellbeing.
• Experience working with SEN children (preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with teachers, pupils, and parents.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication when supporting children with additional needs.
