Ortus Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work across Year 3 and Year 5, supporting the head teacher and pupils with their learning and development. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and eager to contribute to a positive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the head teacher with planning and organising daily activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils progress academically and stay engaged.
• Support children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
• Prepare the classroom before lessons and help with tidying up afterwards.
• Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, creating displays, recording observations, and passing on key information to teachers or parents.
• Build positive relationships with parents to support effective communication and create a warm, inclusive environment.
• Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all pupils by maintaining a secure and hazard-free setting.
• Communicate clearly and listen attentively to children, parents, and teaching staff.
• Manage multiple tasks while staying aware of the needs of both the children and the head teacher.
• Support pupils during lunchtime activities and encourage positive play.

Requirements:
• A strong commitment to supporting children’s emotional, social, and mental wellbeing.
• Experience working with SEN children (preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Patience, sensitivity, and dedication when supporting pupils with varied needs.
• Flexibility to work effectively across both Year 3 and Year 5.
