NVQ Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant

SALARY: £89.00 – £105.00

Ortus Recruitment are looking for an NVQ Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant who will support the head teacher and pupils in the classroom and helps with learning and development. The chosen applicant will have a genuine passion in helping young children in an educational setting.
Job Responsibilities:
Supporting the teacher(s) by:
- Assisting in creating and maintaining a safe, effective, and engaging learning environment.
- Helping to prepare learning activities, supporting their delivery, and observing how well they work, including noting pupils’ responses and sharing relevant feedback.
- Helping keep pupil and classroom records up to date and supporting the teacher’s communication with parents.
Supporting children and their learning by:
- Building fair, respectful, trusting, and supportive relationships with pupils.
- Ensuring their safety and wellbeing in every possible way, including providing a secure and nurturing environment.
- Maintaining high expectations for every child’s development and behaviour and supporting them to reach their full potential with appropriate constructive feedback.
- Encouraging pupils to explore their own ideas, develop creativity, and think independently.
- Promoting positive self-esteem, independence, and strong values, attitudes, and behaviour.
- Monitoring their progress and acting where needed.
Additional duties and responsibilities expected of all staff include:
- Working cooperatively with colleagues and contributing positively to team culture, prioritising the success of the team.
- Actively developing your own professional skills and supporting the growth of others.
- Taking part in performance reviews for yourself and colleagues.
- Attending meetings and school events.
- Supporting the development, positive image, and overall wellbeing of the school community.
Requirements:
- Hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Have some understanding of the EYFS framework and ideally practical experience working with this age group, including acting as a key person.
- Be fully dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Be flexible, adaptable, innovative, and creative in your approach.
- Work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to collaborative efforts.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills when interacting with both children and adults.
- Be well-organised and efficient in managing your responsibilities.
