Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming two-form entry mainstream primary school in Lambeth that is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately on a full-time, long-term basis working from 08:30am till 4pm, Monday – Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Teaching Assistant who enjoys working across the primary age range and is eager to make a positive impact on pupils’ academic and personal development. Our partnered school is a well-resourced, inclusive primary setting with a strong community ethos. The school places a strong emphasis on professional development and values staff who bring enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity to their role.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with their learning and social development in and out of the classroom
• Working with small groups to deliver targeted interventions
• Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require additional help
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in a calm, consistent manner
• Assisting with the development of language, literacy, and numeracy skills
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to monitor progress

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working in a primary school or SEN setting
• Be patient, proactive, and adaptable
• Enjoy working as part of a team and contributing to school life
• Be enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated
• Be confident supporting pupils with a range of needs
