An Ofsted-rated Good primary school in Streatham is looking for a confident and proactive KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible. The school offers great transport links and a welcoming environment with a strong leadership team and friendly staff.

What the Role Involves:

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll never be bored! Each day offers new challenges and opportunities for growth. You will support the class teacher in delivering lessons, assist with 1:1 or small group interventions, and help maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment. You’ll also provide assistance with classroom management, administrative tasks, and support children with challenging behaviours as needed.

The role offers variety, including working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those on the Autism Spectrum. You will have the chance to make a significant impact on the students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong resilience, with the ability to manage and support children with complex needs and challenging behaviour
• Confidence, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
• Good command of English (both written and spoken) and numeracy skills
• Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum
• The ability to foster positive relationships with children, teachers, and parents
• A strong understanding of behaviour management and creating a positive, nurturing classroom atmosphere
