Ortus Recruitment is currently working with a vibrant and community-focused mainstream primary school in Wandsworth that is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support within Key Stage 1. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who enjoys delivering small group interventions and supporting pupils with literacy and phonics development. The school has a strong leadership team and a welcoming staff culture, making it a great environment for someone looking for stability and professional growth.

About the Role

• Deliver targeted phonics and reading interventions across KS1
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils who require additional guidance
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Monitor and track pupil progress with the support of the SENCO and class teacher
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience supporting in a UK primary school setting
• Confident delivering phonics sessions (Read Write Inc. experience desirable but not essential)
• Patient, proactive, and nurturing in their approach
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Committed to full-time, long-term work
