SEN Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking SEN school in Herne Hill, currently seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Focus) to join their team next term. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering £93 – £107 per day (PAYE), with working hours of 8:30am – 4:00pm. Our partnered school is looking to appoint someone immediately, so applicants must have no notice period or a maximum of one week’s notice.
The Role
You will be supporting pupils within a specialist setting, working closely with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD. Many pupils are verbal and benefit from structured, nurturing, and engaging support within an inclusive classroom environment.
The school is looking for someone who:

- Can support learning through creative, multi-sensory approaches
- Is confident managing behaviour positively and consistently
- Understands safeguarding responsibilities and prioritises student wellbeing
- Works collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Requirements
To be considered, you must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification)
- Have prior classroom experience or relevant SEN training
- Demonstrate proven experience supporting children with Autism
- Be available full-time with immediate or near-immediate start
