Ortus Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a thriving and inclusive primary school in Brixton Hill to appoint a passionate and motivated EYFS Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term starting immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, well-established school with a strong leadership team and a clear focus on pupil development and positive behaviour culture.

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children at the very start of their educational journey. You’ll be working closely with class teachers to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils build confidence, develop core skills, and reach key developmental milestones.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing targeted 1:1 support to pupils within the Early Years setting
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities
• Supporting early literacy and numeracy development
• Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Creating a warm, nurturing classroom environment
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and communicating effectively with parents when required

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a 1:1 or 2:1 degree from a leading UK university
• Have experience working with children, ideally within a school or nursery setting
• Be confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
• Be proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to school life
• Aspire to progress into Teacher Training or a long-term career in education

Notice period: You must be available to start immediately (or within one week).
