Ortus Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced SEMH Support Assistant to provide additional support to an excellent school based in Tooting. The school aims to support their pupils by providing the students with the tools to overcome their barriers to learning, particularly in relation to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is a Full Time position and will require you to work Monday- Friday 08:30-16:00.

The Role:

As a confident, motivated SEMH Support Assistant you will be expected to work closely with students displaying challenging or disruptive behaviour in and around class. You will use your personality, determination, and reason to provide them with a safe space, a mentor, and a firm-but-fair friend to help get their education back on track. This role is a great opportunity to further your professional development within a mainstream primary school.

In order to be considered for this role you need to:

• Have experience working with children
• Be comfortable working with challenging behaviour 1:1

It would be an advantage (but not essential) if you have previously worked in:

• SEMH / PRU settings
• Youth Work
• Police or Army
• Sports coaches and mentors
• Graduates in Sport, Psychology, Drama, Counselling and Therapy
