A friendly and inclusive primary school located in Hackney Downs is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs, with a strong focus on Autism (ASD). This role offers a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience while making a lasting difference in the classroom.

Ortus Recruitment is partnering with the school to find someone confident in delivering both one-to-one and small group support.

Your Role Will Include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, particularly ASD
• Assisting with learning activities and encouraging active classroom participation
• Collaborating with the class teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting social development
• Tracking pupil progress and offering constructive feedback

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–6 months of experience working with SEN pupils
• Practical experience supporting children with ASD (essential)
• A Level 3 qualification or a degree (preferred)
• Strong communication skills and confidence in behaviour management
• A genuine interest in supporting children’s development
