1:1 Early Years Teaching Assistant – Support Role (Complex Needs)

Are you a compassionate and patient individual with a passion for supporting young children with additional needs? A welcoming early years setting is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young boy with complex needs who is currently awaiting an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis.

The Role:
You will work closely on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored support to help the child engage with learning, develop communication skills, and feel safe and understood within the classroom environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference during a crucial stage of development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the day
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and interests
  • Support communication and social interaction
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Foster a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with early years children and/or special educational needs
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Has a proactive and flexible approach
  • Experience with ASD or similar needs is desirable but not essential
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are beneficial
