CACHE Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Role: Full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am–4pm)
Location: Southwark, London
Pay: £90–£105 per day PAYE

Ortus Recruitment is working with a primary school in the London Borough of Southwark to find a qualified Teaching Assistant who is ready to hit the ground running. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that truly values education and puts children at the heart of everything it does.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Supporting the teacher by:
- Assisting in creating and maintaining a safe, effective and engaging learning environment
- Helping to prepare and deliver learning activities, observing how well they work and sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher
- Keeping pupil and classroom records up to date and supporting communication with parents
Supporting children and their learning by:
- Building fair, respectful, trusting and supportive relationships with every pupil
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children by providing a secure and nurturing environment
- Maintaining high expectations for every child’s development and behaviour, supporting them to reach their full potential
- Encouraging pupils to explore their own ideas, develop creativity and think independently
- Promoting positive self-esteem, independence and strong values and behaviour
- Monitoring individual progress and acting where needed
Additional responsibilities:
- Working cooperatively with colleagues and contributing positively to the wider team culture
- Actively developing your own professional skills and supporting the growth of others
- Attending meetings, performance reviews and school events
- Supporting the positive image and overall wellbeing of the school community
What We’re Looking For
- Hold a CACHE Level 3 or equivalent Early Years qualification – this is essential
- A sound understanding of the EYFS framework and ideally practical experience working with this age group, including as a key person
- Fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children
- Flexible, adaptable, creative and innovative in your approach to learning and behaviour
- A strong team player who contributes positively to collaborative working
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both children and adults
- Well-organised, reliable and efficient in managing your responsibilities
- A genuine passion for helping young children grow and thrive in an educational setting
