A welcoming and inclusive mainstream Primary School in the London Borough of Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting a pupil in Reception with ASD (Autism), helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.

About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated support to a Reception pupil with ASD during lessons and classroom activities.
- Help create a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
- Adapt activities to meet the pupil’s individual learning needs.
- Support the emotional wellbeing and development of the child throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience supporting children within a primary school setting.
- Be patient, caring, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be confident supporting children with additional needs, particularly Autism.
- Show initiative and the ability to think on their feet.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide an up-to-date CV and professional references.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young children.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not essential.
Additional Information:
- Full-time role: Monday to Friday.
- Working hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm.
- September 2026 start.
