Classroom Assistant | Crystal Palace | £93 – £115 PAYE per day | Full Time | September 2026 Start

Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a number of inclusive and supportive mainstream primary schools in the Crystal Palace area who are looking to appoint dedicated Classroom Assistants for full-time roles starting in September 2026.

This opportunity would suit individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are keen to make a positive impact within an educational setting. The schools are looking for compassionate, proactive, and reliable candidates who can support pupils both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
• Assist children in accessing classroom learning and engaging in school activities
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement individual support strategies
• Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and social development
• Support students with personal care when required, including toileting, changing, and feeding support
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
• Experience within a school, care, youth work, or support setting
• A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
• Confidence supporting children with varying learning and behavioural needs
• Willingness to provide personal care support where necessary
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
• Full-time availability Monday to Friday
