The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. You will work alongside experienced class teachers to provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop essential skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions to support pupil progress
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil engagement
  • Supporting children with varying learning needs and abilities
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking a proactive and caring individual who is passionate about education and child development.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, tutoring, youth work, or similar setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A genuine desire to help children succeed and reach their potential
  • The resilience and adaptability required to thrive in a busy school environment
