Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth that is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning across the curriculum, providing both classroom-based assistance and targeted support where needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment and boost confidence
  • Supporting pupils of all abilities, including those with additional learning needs
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Encouraging pupils to become confident, independent, and motivated learners
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment at all times
