Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wimbledon, Merton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and making a positive difference in the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, providing both classroom support and one-to-one assistance to pupils to help them achieve their full potential.

Please note: Applicants must hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Requirements

• A genuine commitment to supporting children’s emotional, social and mental wellbeing.
• Previous experience working with children is essential.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff.
• A patient, caring and dedicated approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
• Candidates with nursery experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Teacher and class teacher with planning and delivering daily classroom activities.
• Provide one-to-one support and work with small groups to promote learning and development.
• Assist children with learning difficulties and those displaying challenging behaviour.
• Prepare classroom resources before lessons and help maintain an organised learning environment.
• Carry out administrative duties including photocopying, filing, displaying pupils’ work, and recording and reporting important information to teachers and parents.
• Build strong relationships with parents to encourage effective communication and a welcoming school environment.
• Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils by maintaining a safe and supportive classroom.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
• Successfully manage multiple tasks while remaining attentive to the needs of both pupils and teaching staff.
