Ortus Recruitment are recruiting 2 flexible and enthusiastic graduates with classroom experience to take on the role of Teaching Assistant in a lovely Year 4 class.

This is a mainstream, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Primary School located in London Borough of Camden – a dynamic and diverse area with an abundance of underground tube links and bus routes within walking distance of the school to ensure easy accessibility.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ability to take initiative, be confident and proactive
• Work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers.
• Build excellent rapports with staff and pupils
• Support children with SEN on a 1:1 basis

• Lead numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets
• Engage pupils with the KS2 curriculum

Main Expectations:

• 6+ months experience supporting children in a classroom environment (desirable)
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum (desirable)
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
