Ortus Recruitment is excited to announce the chance for a resilient and proactive individual to take on the fulfilling role of ASD 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in a mainstream Primary school in the London Borough of Barnet – a vibrant area filled with an abundance of shops, cafes, parks and transport links within walking distance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the learning and development of children by confidently leading maths and literacy interventions in small groups and working on a 1:1 basis to support a child with autism.

**Must able to reliably commute to Cricklewood**

ASD 1:1 Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:

• Have a nurturing and empathetic approach to teaching
• Leading 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. numeracy and literacy
• Encourage participation from SEN pupil and support them where necessary
• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents and assist class teacher effectively
• Engage students confidently with the curriculum and help them raise attainment

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy capabilities
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
