A fantastic opportunity has opened up to be part the KS2 team in an Ofsted-rated ‘good‘ primary school in the London Borough of Barnet, a vibrant and diverse area with lovely cafes, parks and an abundance of transport links. As a Year 5 and 6 Teaching Assistant you will work amongst UKS2 pupils to promote a positive and safe learning environment, while also guiding and supporting them on their journey towards and through SATS.

Main Responsibilities:

• Show initiative, be assertive and have a firm but fair approach
• Assist class teacher with behaviour management, marking work and supporting where necessary
• Leading 1:1 and small groups of interventions i.e. numeracy and literacy
• Encourage participation from pupils and build excellent rapports

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience working children in KS2 (desirable)
• Minimum 2:2 grade in relevant degree e.g. psychology or educational studies (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references

UKS2 Teaching Assistant Job Details:

• Daily rate of £70 – £85
• Located in London Borough of Barnet
