EYFS/KS1 Learning Support Assistant | Barnet

Are you an experienced EYFS or KS1 Teaching Assistant looking for the opportunity to support children with their learning and development?

This mainstream, inclusive Primary School is looking for a Early Years and KS1 Learning Support Assistant, who is proactive, resilient and enthusiastic to support amongst their EYFS and KS1 classrooms, aiding the classroom teacher and supporting children with additional needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ability to take initiative, be proactive and resilient
  • Work alongside class teachers to manage classroom behaviour, keep classrooms organised and liaise with parents/carers
  • Support on a 1:1 basis with a child on the spectrum
  • Lead numeracy, phonics and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels
  • Engage pupils with the EYFS and KS1 curriculum

Main Expectations:

  • 3+ months experience supporting early years/KS1 children
  • Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
  • Strong numeracy/literacy capabilities
  • Knowledge of EYFS/KS1 curriculum
  • Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
