Ortus Recruitment is excited to announce the chance for a reliable and proactive individual to take on the fulfilling role of Teaching Assistant in a mainstream Primary school in the London Borough of Barnet – a vibrant area filled with an abundance of shops, cafes, parks and public transportation links.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the learning and development of children by confidently leading maths and literacy interventions in small groups and working on a 1:1 basis with children who have additional needs to help improve attainment levels.

Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

• Lead 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. reading, numeracy and literacy
• Encourage participation from SEN pupils and support them where necessary
• Liaise with parents and assist class teacher effectively
• Manage behaviour effectively
• Engage students confidently with the curriculum and help raise attainment

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting in a classroom setting
• Level 3 qualification or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
