Ortus Recruitment is recruiting a confident and passionate Teaching Assistant to aid in a Year 3 class in a mainstream, Ofsted rated ‘good’ Primary School. The school is located in the London Borough of Hillingdon and prides themselves on providing a safe, inclusive enviroment based on respect and encouragement for each other regardless of background or ability.

The Year 3 Teaching Assistant role:

• Work alongside class teacher to manage behaviour, keep classroom organised, plan and prep engaging lessons in line with the curriculum and liaise with parents/carers
• Confidently lead numeracy, literacy and reading interventions in small groups to raise attainment
• Support on a 1:1 basis with children with additional needs when neccessary
• Have a can-do attitude and be passionate about having a postive impact on children’s academic lives

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy capabilities
• Be available to work full-time and long-term
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
