Ortus Recruitment are liaising with a number of fantastic, mainstream Primary Schools in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden and Brent who are looking for multiple reliable and flexible individuals available during the week for Day-to-Day cover/supply work as a Teaching Assistant.

This role would require someone willing to go in to different schools across Barnet, Brent and/or Camden being informed as early as 7am on the day and assist the Senior Leadership Team and Class Teacher in the activities and lessons for the day. This could involve an array of different responisibilites being taken on for the day for example, working with children that have various SEN, leading interventions, organising the classroom and supervising playtimes.

This is the perfect role for someone looking to gain more experience in a Primary school environment with the potential to secure a full-time and long-term position with the school if deemed an ideal candidate. You must be flexible and willing to work amongst all year groups – Early Years to Year 6.

Main Responsibilities:

• Be reliable, flexible and proactive
• Assist class teacher with behaviour management and playtime duty
• Confidently lead 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. phonics, numeracy and literacy
• Collaborating with SLT, Assistant Teachers and School Administrators to make sure students are safe
• Encourage participation from SEN pupils and support them where necessary
