Ortus Recruitment is looking to recruit an assertive Teaching Assistant who is passionate about having a positive impact on children’s acedemic lives, to work alongside the class teacher in a Year 5 class.

The role:

In a general capacity, the successful candidate will liaise with parents/carers, manage behaviour in the classroom and playground, keep the classroom organised and prep and plan lessons alongside the class teacher. As well as this, you will be expected to lead numeracy and literacy interventions to raise attainment and when neccessary, work on a 1:1 basis with SEN children.

**With the children being in their penultimate year, there will be a big focus on numeracy, literacy and reading in preperation for their SATs the following year, therefore this is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree in a relevant subject, looking to gain first-hand classroom experience.**

The IDEAL Teaching Assistant will:

• have a minimum 2:2 degree in relevant subject
• have 3+ months experience supporting children in UKS2
• have experience working with children with additional needs
• have strong numeracy/literacy skills and be confident enagaging children with the curriculum
• be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
