Job Description:

• Position: KS1 Classroom Assistant
• Location: London Borough of Barnet
• Start date: ASAP
• Pay rate: £75 – £90 per day (PAYE)

**Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term and full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm)**

Ortus Recruitment are recruiting a number of resilient and proactive KS1 Classroom Assistant to support alongside the classroom teacher in a KS1 class.

The Classroom Assistant role:

• Be confident and comfortable leading reading, phonics, reading, numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups
• Have a dynamic and motivating approach to teaching
• Supporting children with SEN and having a positive impact on social, emotional and academic development
• Effectively manage behaviour in the playground and in the classroom

KS1 Classroom Assistant Expectations:

• 3+ months classroom experience
• SEN experience
• Have a can-do attitude
• Minimum 2:2 grade in relevant degree e.g. psychology or educational studies or Level 3 qualified
• Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
