About the Role:
Ortus Recruitment are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Inclusion Manager (SENCO) to join our partnered school. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing our school’s inclusion policies and practices. They will work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that every child has equal access to the curriculum and a positive learning experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school’s inclusion policies and practices
- Work with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that every child has equal access to the curriculum and a positive learning experience
- Develop and implement strategies to support children with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities
- Provide training and support for teachers and support staff on inclusion and diversity
- Manage a team of support staff and allocate resources effectively to meet the needs of individual children
- Liaise with external agencies, such as local authorities, health professionals, and SEN specialists, to secure the best possible support for children with special educational needs
- Ensure that the school is compliant with all relevant legislation, including the Equality Act and the Children and Families Act
Requirements:
- A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- A teaching qualification and experience teaching in a primary school setting
- NASENCO qualification
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
- Excellent knowledge of inclusion and diversity policies and practices
- Experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies
