A school located in Kingston are looking for an enthusiastic speech and language teaching assistant who are eager to support students in class and one to one. The job role can be quite challenging, therefore the school are looking for someone who is resilient, and keeps a positive mindset throughout the course of the day.
If you apply for this role you will be taking on various different tasks, which will include helping students with their pronunciation and spelling of words they are having difficulty with. This can be done in multiple ways such as tracing words, encourage reading, keeping words on display etc. You should have the ability to be resilient because you will be keeping record of were the student has made progress and needs to improve. It could take a long period of time for a child with speech and language difficulties to progress, therefore an enthusiastic mindset is vital for this job role. You will not only be supporting the students in the classroom but outside the classroom as well. Students with SEN can sometimes have low self-esteem, therefore one of the roles would be helping them interact and communicate with their peers, which could build up their self-confidence.
