SEN Teaching Assistant | Merton | Full time – long term | Immediate start | PAYE – (£80-£90)
Ortus Recruitment are searching for resilient teaching assistant who has had experience with special educational needs, and ready to make a difference in the children’s education. If you apply for this role you will be working closely with a student from year a 4 class who has mild autism.
Your role :
If you apply and are accepted for this role you will be helping the student to complete learning activities they are having difficulty with, by making them fun so they stay engaged. These activities could include hands-on games, painting and drawing, physical activities, and interacting with their peers. You will also be keeping record of the progress the student is making, and highlighting the areas where they need to improve on. This student has difficulty developing language skills and understanding what other says to them, therefore you would need the ability to find ways to communicate with them in a simpler way so they find it easier to understand. Another part of your role would be supporting the student at break and lunch, meeting their emotional, physical and social needs. This could include listening to their problems and giving them appropriate advice.
