Ortus Recruitment are working closely with a primary school based in Croydon, who are currently on the search for a strong Behaviour Mentor to work alongside pupils in year 6.
The headteacher is on the hunt for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work alongside 2 pupils in year 6 who have behavioural needs. Your role will include working closely with the students to ensure they are staying engaged and on task with their work, as well as taking them out the classroom when necessary to do separate activities. You will also encourage pupils to interact with others and get involved with the class.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with challenging behaviour.
- Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Create and implement behaviour management plans and interventions to support positive behaviour.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to ensure a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour is essential.
- Experience of implementing behaviour management plans and interventions.
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to providing high-quality support and education to all students.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training and development.
