A mainstream primary school in Berrylands are looking for a motivated Learning Support Assistant to work with SEN students 1:1 and in group settings, supporting them inside and outside the classroom. This is a full time – long term role, from 8:30am-4:00pm (with an hour lunch break). If you apply for this role you will need to ensure that you have this availability and you are able to commute easily.

Within this role you will be :

• Supporting children during social activities, outings, and sports events.
• Helping children prepare for activities, such as Physical Education (PE).
• Helping children during therapy sessions.
• Supervising group activities.
• Assisting Teachers to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials, complete records, and carry out administrative tasks.
• Supporting Teachers in managing class behaviour.
• Following a child’s care plan.

The ideal candidate will have more than a years’ experience working with children in a professional setting such as a school, and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum. You should also have good knowledge of SEN and how to interact with children in an appropriate manner.
