Here at Ortus Recruitment we are looking for someone who can start immediately and hit the ground running in a new rewarding role working alongside mainstream children. We need someone who has classroom based experience and can assist the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 6 class who are about to take their end of year exams.

The Job Role:

• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Peckham Rye
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

Within this role we are seeking someone who can provide additional support to the pupils in Year 6 who are behind their targets in core subjects. You will be required to assist the pupils in class with their work and lead 1:1 or small group interventions out of the classroom in a small space in an attempt to raise academic attainment levels. You will be required to assist the teacher in creating differentiated work that suits the individual learners needs, as well as providing feedback and pupil progress at the end of each intervention.

The Ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, especially in core subjects and will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent. The ideal candidate does need experience both in the classroom and working alongside children with challenging behaviour as this role can be quite challenging. You will need to be patient and have a kind and nurturing nature in order to thrive in this role. The successful candidate will be offered CPD and Teacher Training opportunities in order for upskilling and to provide opportunities for career progression.
