Here at ORTUS RECRUITMENT, we are looking for an unqualified Teaching Assistant to join one of our Mainstream Primary Schools on a Full time, Long term basis. We need someone who is able to start immediately and commit to Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00. Although it is an Unqualified position, candidates WILL NEED experience working alongside children and/or vulnerable adults/young people in a care, residential, school or social setting. The Mainstream Primary School is located in the London Borough of Southwark, Bermondsey and they are seeking someone who is able to hit the ground running.

The Job Role:

• Position: Unqualified Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Bermondsey
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

Within this role, the main responsibilities will be to work alongside the Class Teacher and support a Year 2 class. You will be required to work 1:1 and in small groups with learners, helping to raise their academic attainment level and develop social and emotional skills. These interventions will be subject specific and you will be required to work alongside the class teacher in ensuring all the work is differentiated and suits each individual learners needs. You will be responsible for providing feedback to the parents/carers about their child’s day and if there is any positive pupil progress. You will be responsible for supervising pupils in class and around the school building, including in the lunch hall and playground.

• Will have experience working alongside children and/or vulnerable adults/young people
• Will be able to reliably commute to Bermondsey
• Will be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated in aiding their academic, emotional, social and mental development
• Will have a kind and nurturing nature
• Will be patient and have resilience
• Will be able to build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
