The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and are seeking someone who can start immediately and hit the ground running. The Job Role:

• Position: Graduate Learning Mentor
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Lewisham, Deptford
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate will be someone who has graduated from University with a relevant childcare degree or equivalent. The ideal candidate will need to have a strong academic background in core subjects, and be confident enough to lead subject specific interventions either 1:1 or in small groups. Within these interventions, you will work alongside children who need additional support in raising their academic attainment levels. The ideal candidate will need to have a natural calm, kind and nurturing nature as well as patience and resilience when working alongside children. The Ideal Candidate will have a Clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52.

Within this role, your main responsibility will be to assist the Class Teacher in supporting pupils in a year 3 class. You will be required to assist the pupils with their classwork and other queries or questions they may have. You will be responsible for leading 1:1 and small group interventions, receiving differentiated work from the class teacher and delivering the pre planned lesson to a smaller group of children in a quieter space. You will be required to undertake administrative duties, such as marking work, signing reading diaries and photocopying work.
