Here at ORTUS RECRUITMENT we are seeking an Experienced Teaching Assistant to start immediately at one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools, located in the London Borough of Southwark, Camberwell. The Job Role:

• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Camberwell
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00).

Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting pupils in a Year 2 class. You will be required to work 1:1 and in small groups at times, to help raise the academic attainment of the pupils who require additional support in core subjects. You will be required to help the teacher plan and prepare work, photocopying worksheets and laminating display sheets. You will also be required to undertake administrative duties, such as marking work/homework and signing reading diaries. You will be responsible for supervising pupils in and around the school building, including in the lunch hall at lunch and in the playground. Your main duty will be to ensure and maintain the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who can start immediately, and commit to full time, long term work. We are looking for someone who has experience working in schools, alongside both mainstream and SEN learners. We will also welcome candidates who have transferrable skills, experience working in care, child residential homes, sports coaching or working alongside vulnerable adults/young people. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, and be educated to degree level or equivalent. Having the confidence to lead 1:1 and small group interventions is a must.
