Our special needs secondary school in Sutton, London is renowned for providing exceptional education and support to students with a range of needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs.

Role – Teaching Assistant:

· You will play a crucial role in supporting students with special needs in their educational journey.

· Your commitment and passion for working with SEN students will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

· You will work closely with the class teacher, providing one-on-one support and contributing to the students’ overall progress.

Responsibilities – Teaching Assistant:

· Support students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs, both individually and in small groups.

· Provide one-on-one support to students as needed, helping with academic tasks and personal development.

· Collaborate with the class teacher in preparing resources and materials tailored to students’ individual needs.

· Assist in behaviour management strategies, maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.

· Contribute to the development and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP), assessments, and reports.

· Attend EHCP reviews and meetings with parents/guardians to provide valuable insights and feedback.

· Receive training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in working with SEN students.

Requirements – Teaching Assistant:

· Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is desirable.

· A genuine commitment and passion for working with SEN students.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.

· Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the class teacher and other professionals.

· Willingness to learn and participate in training programs to enhance your skills in supporting SEN students.
