Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our vibrant mainstream primary schools.  The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’. This school boasts a modern building and a parking lot for staff to park if they drive. The school is also located in close proximity to a popular London Underground Station and is situated close to several bus stops so commuting is very easy.

The Job Role:

• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Pay: £85 – £95 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella Company Fees
• Location: Deptford
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

Within this role the successful candidate will be required to assist the class teacher in supporting pupils in the class. You will be situated in a Year 5 class, working 1:1 and in small groups with learners who need additional support in core subjects. You will be required to liaise with the Class Teacher and the SENCO to ensure the pupils are receiving the necessary support. You will be responsible for undertaking administrative duties such as marking class work/homework, signing reading diaries and photocopying/laminating worksheets.

Requirements:

• Must have experience working alongside children in a care, residential, school or social setting
• Must have experience working 1:1 and in small groups, leading academic interventions for specific subjects
• Must be passionate about working alongside children
• Must be able to commit to full time, long term work
• Must be able to reliable commute to Deptford or be willing to relocate
• Must have a kind a nurturing nature
• Must have two obtainable childcare relevant references
• Must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
