The Job Role:

• Position: Unqualified Classroom Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE –  No hidden Agency/Umbrella Company Fees
• Location: Southwark, Walworth
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking someone to join one of our thriving mainstream primary schools on a full time, long term basis (immediate start up until the end of the academic year, and going into the next academic year with the opportunity of a contract). The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and this shown by their impressive academic success and excellent working environment amongst staff.

Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting the pupils in a Year 3 class as well helping to maintain a clean and organised classroom. The successful candidate will be required to undertake administrative duties such as helping to update display boards in the classroom and photocopy/laminate worksheets. You will be required to assist the Class Teacher with the overall class management, helping to ensure a safe working environment as well as helping with behaviour management. You will need to be confident enough to lead 1:1 and small group subject specific interventions.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has experience working alongside children in a classroom setting. Has a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential). We are seeking someone who is comfortable and confident in leading 1:1 and small group interventions in core subjects (Literacy, Reading, Math). The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about working alongside children and is seeking a rewarding career in education.

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have TWO obtainable references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52.
