Here at ORTUS RECRUITMENT we are seeking an experienced Primary School Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant Mainstream schools located in Southwark, Borough. The school are looking for someone who can start immediately and hit the ground running in this rewarding long term role.

The Job Role:

• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Borough
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The successful candidate will be required to assist the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 5 class. You will be responsible for helping to maintain good behaviour within class and help keep the pupils engaged with learning. You will be required to undertake some administrative duties such as marking classwork/homework, signing and collecting reading diaries, photocopying/laminating worksheets and helping to update subject display boards. You will be required to lead a small reading group, helping to raise their reading level by using phonics and helping  them to read full sentences.

To be considered for this role you will need experience working as a Class Teaching Assistant, a Classroom Assistant or a Learning Support Assistant. The school are looking for someone who is looking for a long term career within education and someone who is able to provide outstanding support to the Class Teacher. We are seeking someone who is able to build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff and help to maintain a positive working environment as well as an engaging learning environment.

To be considered for this role, you must have two obtainable relevant childcare/school based references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
