We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Learning Mentor/ Learning Support Assistant to join a Mainstream Primary School located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Blackheath. The school are seeking someone to support pupils across year 3 – year 6, working closely with those who require additional support, especially in core subjects.

The Job Information:

• Position: KS2 Intervention Lead
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Lewisham, Blackheath
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience supporting pupils either 1:1 or in small groups, providing additional support to pupils who need to raise their academic attainment level. We are welcoming school based experience, and transferrable experience such as private tutoring etc. We are seeking someone with a strong academic background who is educated to degree level or equivalent, and confident in delivering lessons to pupils independently. The ideal candidate will need to be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and pupils. You will need to have a natural kind and nurturing nature, and have a patient approach when supporting pupils.

You must have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment.

Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the class teachers help plan differentiated lesson plans and classwork for the pupils who require additional support. You will need to collect pupils from class and escort them through the school building to the smaller space you will be working in, whilst in the corridor you will need to promote calm and collective behaviour. You will need to encourage the pupils to engage and maintain a positive attitude to learning. You will be tasked with providing feedback to the class teacher and the parents/carers on the pupils academic progress.
