Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join one of our Mainstream Primary Schools , someone who is able to come in and hit the ground running, easily building positive rapports with both staff and students in an attempt to help maintain the positive working environment amongst staff. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and have managed to maintain that reference for the last few years.

We are seeking someone who is able to start immediately and commit to full time, long term work, the hours you are required to work are Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00). You will have the option to attend a fortnightly staff wellbeing meeting from 16:00 – 16:30 which takes place every two Wednesdays.

The Job Information:

• Position: Unqualified Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Dulwich
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00).

Within this role you will be required to assist the class teacher in supporting a Year 5 class. You will be required to work closely with the pupils and assist them with their classwork or other queries they may have. You may be tasked with undertaking administrative duties such as photocopying, laminating and updating display boards both in the class and the corridor. You will be a general TA, you need to be able to follow the Class Teachers instructions as well as be able to work off of your own initiative.

The requirements:

• You need to have experience supporting vulnerable adults/young people in a care, residential, school or social setting
• You will need to have experience managing challenging behaviour and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
• You must have a natural ‘can do’ attitude to work
• You must be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to aiding their development in core subjects
• You need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential)

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references – one must be your most recent role

You will also need to have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
