Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school located in Morden and they are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role, September start. The candidate applying for this role needs to have a passion for aiding children in their academic studies, specifically SEN children.

Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 with students and providing communicative, academic and emotional support.
• Clarifying, modifying and adapting materials to an appropriate level according to need.
• Liaise with teachers and parents, giving feedback on the students’ progress.
• Help with personal care such as feeding and toilet duties.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A fully enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52)
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
• More than a years’ experience working with children in a professional setting, specifically SEN.
• Confident working on a 1:1 basis
