We have an amazing opportunity here at Ortus Recruitment, its for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our mixed primary and secondary SEN Provisions and support pupils with Special Educational Needs, these needs include ASD, ADD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD and Downs Syndrome.

The Job Information:

· Position: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

· Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees

· Location: Lewisham, Deptford

· Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has experience supporting SEN Pupils in either a care, residential, school or social setting. We are seeking someone who is patient and resilient, passionate about working with children and dedicated to aiding their development both academically and helping them with life skills such as social, emotional and mental wellbeing. We are seeking someone who has a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent in a childcare relevant field.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE RELEVANT REFERENCES AND A CLEAR ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR BE WILLING TO PROCESS ONE THROUGH ORTUS RECRTUITMENT – £52

Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting a classes across KS2 and KS3. The class and year group you will be placed in is dependent on what you’re looking for, as well as your experience and qualifications. You will be required to assist the pupils with tasks and activities given to them by the teacher, as well as supporting them in their sessions with in school therapists. You will be tasked with using enrichment activities as incentives to promote engagement in learning and good behaviour.
