- Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees

- Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)
Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join one of our thriving mainstream primary schools to work 1:1 with a pupil with challenging behaviour. The school is located in the London Borough of Southwark, Peckham.
Must have:
- A clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
- TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
- Minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math
The ideal candidate will:
- Be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to developing their academic attainment levels
- Have experience managing challenging behaviour either hands on or through CPD courses
- Have experience working 1:1 and/or in small groups either managing challenging behaviour or leading interventions
- Have a ‘Can do’ attitude
- Be able to start in September 2023, and commit to full time, long term work.
- Will be able to reliably commute to Peckham
Within this role, your main responsibilities will be to work alongside the Class Teacher supporting a pupil in Year 3 who has challenging behaviour. You will be required to demonstrate professionalism in challenging situations and maintain and polite manner. You will work closely with the pupil in the Class Room and escort him to both sensory and enrichment activities with the hope that it will incentivize a positive attitude to learning, as well as good behaviour. You will need to liaise with the Class Teacher, the SENCO and the Parents/Carers in order to provide feedback and ensure the pupil is receiving the necessary support.
