Ortus recruitment is closely working with a 2-form entry mainstream primary school who seek an experienced Classroom Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 Class (KS2). Our partnered mainstream primary school is based in Brixton, has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and have a friendly team of staff who are supporting and will make you feel very welcome and valued from day one. This role will be a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 08:30 am – 15:00 pm) and they need a candidate who is prepared to support the year 5 class immediately.

Previous experience with behaviour management in a school-based environment would be advantageous, but we still encourage applicants with relevant qualifications and experience working with children. This is general teaching assistant role that does not involve supporting students with SEN and is a perfect opportunity for a candidate wanting to help pupil to focus in lesson to get the most out of their early phase of education.

Requirements:

• A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Maths, English, Sciences, Psychology, Drama, or Performing Arts or related field
• Strong understanding of working with children/ young people, e.g., Youth Work, Mentoring, Tutoring, Childcare, Voluntarily
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
