The role:

• Monday-Friday (term time only)

A ‘Good’ Ofsted rated primary school located in Wimbledon are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time – long term role and someone who has a passion for working with children who have mild autism and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 support for children with mild autism in their academic studies
• Supporting children in their social activities, including facilitating communication and interactions with peers
• Maintaining accurate records and documentations of the students’ progress
• Communicating with parents/guardians, teachers, and other relevant staff
• Providing valuable feedback on the students to the class teacher and members of the senior leadership team

Skills and requirements

• Experience working with SEN, and comfortable working 1:1 with students
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations, and able to respond well towards the students
• Ability to maintain a positive relationship with the staff and students
• Proactive, reliable and dedicated
• Strong communication skills
• Capable to understand and implement the school’s behaviour policy, the SEN Policy and the code of conduct including the issuing of rewards and sanctions within the academy’s policies and procedures.
