Position Overview: As a PMLD Teaching Assistant in Croydon, your role is pivotal in providing essential support and care to students with complex learning needs. Your primary responsibility is to help create a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment that empowers each student to reach their full potential academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer one-on-one support to students with PMLD.
• Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Develop and adapt teaching materials to suit each student’s unique needs.
• Support students in daily activities, including personal care and mobility.
• Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to maximize student development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.

Requirements:

• Prior experience working with students with PMLD is highly desirable.
• Strong empathy, patience, and effective communication skills.
• A genuine passion for improving the lives of students with complex learning needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant qualifications or training in special education are a plus.
