Position Overview: As a PMLD Teaching Assistant in Wandsworth, your role is pivotal in providing essential support and care to students with complex learning needs. Your primary responsibility is to establish a secure, inclusive, and enriching learning environment that empowers each student to achieve their full potential academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized one-on-one support to students with PMLD.
• Collaborate in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Create and adapt teaching materials to suit each student’s unique needs.
• Assist students with daily activities, including personal care and mobility.
• Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to optimize student development.
• Maintain meticulous records of student progress and behavior.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with students with PMLD is highly desirable.
• Exceptional empathy, patience, and effective communication skills.
• A profound passion for enhancing the lives of students with complex learning needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant qualifications or training in special education are advantageous.
