ORTUS RECRUITMENT are seeking an experienced classroom assistant to join one of our lovely mainstream Primary Schools located in the London borough of Lewisham, Grove Park.

The role:

• Position: Classroom Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £100 per day, PAYE
• Location: Grove Park
• Hours: Full Time, Long Term (08:30 – 16:00)

Do you have experience working with children in a school or social setting?

Have you previously worked alongside SEN pupils?

If so, this could be the role for you!

This role will require the successful candidate to work closely alongside the class teacher and assist with preparing and setting out activities and tasks for the learners to complete. The candidate will be required to support SEN learners in the class and help differentiate the work to suit their needs. You will also be responsible for undertaking administrative tasks such as marking work, signing reading diaries and organising reading books into the correct levels.

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and be confident in leading subject specific interventions by working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to raise their attainment levels in core subjects (English, Math and Reading). The candidate will also have a natural patient and nurturing nature as well as the ability to be resilient, proactive and passionate about working with children.

The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and boasts fantastic academic results with their Math and Reading levels above average for primary schools across the UK.
