Ortus Recruitment are working alongside a fantastic mainstream primary school in Colliers Wood and they are searching for a SEN Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role. This is an amazing opportunity to gain valuable experience and it is an immediate start.

You will be working in a year 3 class supporting a child with mild autism. Your main responsibilities will be working 1:1 with this student supporting them during lessons and at breaks and lunch. You will also be supervising them on movement breaks to ensure they remain focused throughout the course of the day.

Skills needed for this role:

• Knowledge of teaching and ability to design engaging lessons
• The ability to understands people’s reactions
• Be able to work independently and part as a group
• Ability to be patient and calm in stressful situations
• To follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for the children to work in
